West African Sculpture of a Missionary Nun ca. mid 20th Century AD. From French West Africa, most likely Cote d’Ivoire (The Ivory Coast), since the face of the figure is stylistically Dan from the Ivory Coast. The figure stands hooded with her hands to her chest holding a rosary and cross. An interesting blend of French Catholic and West African art. H. 11 1/2".
