Chinese Ming Pottery Horse

Item 4 of 41

Chinese Ming Pottery Horse ca. 15th-16th Century AD. An excellent example of a Ming tomb figure saddled horse. Horses are somewhat less common among the Ming figures and this is a nice example retaining most of its original white slip and black highlighting with traces of red and green pigments. The horse stands with one leg held up and a strongly arched neck. Restored. Ex HJB 145th Buy or Bid sale, August 2005, lot 611. L. 7 1/2" H. 8 3/4" (19 cm x 22.2 cm).
