Syrian Terracotta Oil Lamps ca. 450-600 AD. Pointed oval lamp with wide filling-hole and double raised rim. A version of a common inscription 'the Light of Christ shines for all,' appears on the shoulder. The nozzle top is decorated with what could be a stylized menorah (see "Catalogue of the Lamps in the British Museum", Bailey, pg. 288.) Single base ring.
