Amlash Bronze Stag ca. 1000 BC. The stag stands foursquare with a typical cylindrical body, looking forward with his head held high and elongated branching antlers. The piece has a wonderful original burial patina with various greens and earthen encrustation. This is in unusually good condition and is a larger size for the type. Similar examples from the Amlash or Koban cultures typically sell in the $5000-$7000 range in the Christie's and Sotheby's catalogues. L. 4" H. 3 1/2" (10 cm x 9 cm).
