band, walking r. facing l. to Dionysus. Maenad to l.
of Dionysus, in chiton, hair in kekryphalos with stephane in white bead, holding tambourine in l. hand, r. a coffer. Reverse with altar flanked by two young men, draped in himation, both with staff in hand by altar, rosette hovering above, men facing each other. Meander surrounds bottom of body, red olive leaves surround top of body, below rim of shoulder. Base and inside of krater in black. Repaired and restored. Provenance: Private Collection, Oregon, acquired 1980s. H. 16.2" W. 17" (H. 41.2 cm, W. 43.1 cm).
