Michael Jordan. 1991, Oil on Canvas, 59x78 inches. Double portrait of Michael Jordan painted for and hung in private dining room of Michael Jordon in Michael Jordon's restaurant the year of the first Bull's championship and the year he was awarded the league MVP award for the second time. The green head, as a Roman bust, represents the public Michael, The natural color facing head represents the private Michael. This painting of historical importance depicts Michael Jordan in action, although all we see is his face from two different angles. The portrait on the left of the painting is a profile of Michael with a bright green background. In the other portrait painted on a bright red background, Jordan is looking at us with an invincible gaze. "By painting Jordan from two different angles, I wanted to capture a moment from a basketball game, where he would be in constant movement. The colors of red and green symbolize 'stop and go' as in traffic lights, the same way a basketball game is played,"(Quote Ed Paschke). Size includes frame.
