| Artist Info (scroll down for paintings): Studied in his native city of Kief, the National Academy of Design in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago. His outstanding teachers were Korenev, Olinsky, Curran and Buehr. He painted in Austria, Germany, France and various parts of the United States. He was a member of the Chicago Society of Artists and the South Side Art Association and was exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and in Philadelphia, Kansas City, St. Louis and Omaha. He is represented in the permanent collection of the State Museum in Springfield, Illinois, and his work was written about in various Chicago newspapers-Russian as well as English of the period. The estate of Gregory Orloff is owned by Harlan Berk. It is common to find work by the artist that is unsignd as Orloff rarely signed his prints in pencil or in the plate itself. |
